About Media Training

We run practical, hands-on courses in creative software, video, digital marketing and AI tools for individuals and teams from organisations across the UK. Classes are small, at our London Islington centre, live online and at client venues. We look after the course outlines, bookings, venues and delegates, and work with independent subject experts to deliver the training.

Small groups

Most classes have up to 8 delegates, so there’s time to help everyone with their own questions and projects.

Established outlines

Each course has an agreed outline and learning outcomes. How you teach it is down to your own expertise and style.

We handle the admin

We market the courses, take the bookings and look after delegates and venues, so you can concentrate on delivery.

Individuals and companies

We work with independent freelancers and with training businesses. The same introduction form works for both.

No previous teaching experience needed

You don’t need a teaching qualification or a background in training. What matters is that your knowledge of the subject is at what would be considered an expert level, built from real-world use, and that you can explain it clearly and patiently. Many great trainers are practitioners: editors, camera operators, marketers, analysts and designers who use these tools every day.

What we look for

Expert-level, current, hands-on knowledge of the software or subject, and the ability to break it down for beginners as well as experienced users.

How engagement works

Introduce yourself

Tell us which courses you could deliver, your day rate and a little about your experience using the form below.

An informal chat

If your subjects match our needs, we’ll get in touch to talk about your expertise and how you like to deliver training.

Agree terms

We may ask for a short sample session. We then agree your day rate and put a written freelance services agreement in place.

Course by course

We offer you course dates as they’re booked. You accept the ones that suit you and are free to turn down any that don’t.

Invoice us

After each course you invoice us at the agreed rate. We aim to pay within 35 days of receiving your invoice.

Working with us on a freelance basis

This is an opportunity to provide training services as an independent business. It isn’t a job vacancy or an offer of employment. When we work together:

  • You’re self-employed or trade through your own company, and you look after your own tax and National Insurance (and VAT, if you’re registered).
  • We engage you course by course. There’s no guaranteed amount of work, and you’re free to accept or decline any dates we offer.
  • You’re free to provide services to other clients as well as to us.
  • You bring your own expertise and decide how best to teach the agreed course content.
  • You invoice us for each course you deliver at your agreed rate.

Introduce yourself

Tell us about you or your company and the courses you could deliver. There’s no obligation on either side.

No. We’re looking to engage independent trainers and training businesses to deliver courses on a freelance basis. You’d be self-employed or trade through your own company, responsible for your own tax and National Insurance, and free to accept or decline any work we offer and to work for other clients.

Yes. The same form works for individual freelancers and for companies. Tell us your company name, which courses you could deliver and your day rate, and use the notes box to tell us about the trainers you work with.

You invoice us after each course at your agreed day rate. We aim to pay invoices within 35 days of receiving them. If you’re VAT registered, add VAT to your invoice as usual.

Courses run at our London Islington centre, live online, and sometimes at client venues. Let us know which of these you can offer when you introduce yourself.

We review every introduction against the courses we need trainers for. If there’s a good match we’ll get in touch to arrange an informal conversation. If there isn’t a match right now, we may keep your details and contact you when a suitable course comes up.
