What we do

Media Training Ltd runs short courses in Adobe Creative Cloud, AI tools, design, video, marketing, coding, Microsoft Office, writing and business skills, for individuals building skills for work and for organisations training their teams.

Our courses are grouped in ten categories.

Despite the name, Media Training Ltd is not a press coaching company. Most of what we teach is creative software, AI and digital skills. We run one press course among more than 140: Media Interviews for TV and Radio, a one-day course covering voice, body language, building a message, handling difficult questions and on-camera practice with feedback. It is for directors, spokespeople, consultants and advisers who give press interviews, and it is taught by TV news journalists.

We train marketing, communications and creative teams, including broadcasters, publishers, agencies and in-house teams. Training is face to face at our London Islington centre, live online, at the client's venue, or one-to-one. You can book a place on a scheduled course, or an organisation can book private training for its team. Bespoke training is available. We train in English.

Highbury & Islington is about 10 minutes' walk, on the Victoria line and the Overground Mildmay, Windrush and Great Northern lines. Canonbury is about 8 minutes' walk and is step-free. King's Cross is one stop south on the Great Northern line, and Finsbury Park is one stop north. Buses 19, 21, 30 and 263 stop on Highbury Grove, close to Screenworks. Paid car parking is available nearby via the RingGo app, location code 801259.

Opening hours

We are open Monday to Friday. Reception opens at 9.15am and we close at 5pm. Courses run from 10am to 4.30pm.

Our history

  1. 1993

    Media Training Ltd was incorporated on 29 October 1993. The company was set up to meet a demand for new skills as the UK's design and publishing industries moved from traditional methods to digital production. We started trading from offices in Highbury, north London.

  2. 1995 to 1998

    We grew into a training provider for the UK's creative industries. Our Highbury centre expanded from one training room to 10.

  3. 1996

    We were a South East England regional finalist in the BBC "Best New Business" awards.

  4. 1997

    We were awarded Authorised Training Partner status by Adobe and by Apple.

  5. 1998

    We opened a second centre next to Waterloo station, with 8 training rooms.

  6. 2012

    Our Highbury centre moved to a self-contained building in King's Cross. We ran courses from both King's Cross and Waterloo. By this time we were training corporate and public sector organisations as well as the creative and publishing sectors.

  7. 2015

    We merged both centres into one new training centre in Great Suffolk Street, Southwark. Clients at the time included the BBC, Marks and Spencer, Amazon, Apple, Google, the MOD and The Guardian.

  8. 2020

    We moved to new offices in Butler's Wharf, overlooking Tower Bridge, built to our specification. In 2020 and 2021 we expanded quickly into online and hybrid training, and began teaching learners and organisations from further afield while keeping a London centre.

  9. 2026

    The training market had changed and we no longer needed a large central London centre, so we returned to our original site in Highbury. From here we run classroom, hybrid and online courses for clients around the world. We now run more than 140 courses in Adobe Creative Cloud, design, video production, marketing, coding, Google and Microsoft tools, writing, business skills and, increasingly, AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Claude.
