Attendee FAQs

Advice for learners attending our courses in London or online.

Before You Book

What can I expect from a course at Media Training?

All our courses are hands-on and practical – you'll be working in the software throughout the day, not just watching a demonstration. Sessions run from 10am to 4.30pm and are kept deliberately small, with a maximum of 8 delegates in person and 6 online, so your trainer can focus on you. Every course is led by an industry practitioner who uses the software professionally alongside their training work at Media Training.

How do I book a course?

All courses can be booked online at mediatraining.ltd.uk. Courses run on fixed scheduled dates – just pick the date that suits you and complete your booking. You'll receive an automated confirmation email immediately, followed by detailed joining instructions ahead of the course date.

How do I pay for a course?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and BACS. A VAT invoice will be issued following your confirmation email. VAT Reg: GB 645 0859 23.

What is a Learning Pot?

A Learning Pot is a pre-paid training credit scheme that lets you or your organisation buy training in advance and use it across multiple courses. It's a flexible way to plan training for teams or individuals throughout the year.

Do you offer team or corporate training?

Yes – we offer private team training reserved exclusively for your organisation. Sessions follow our established course content as standard, with the option to tailor the training to your organisation's specific goals, workflows or materials for a small additional fee. Training can be delivered at our London training centre in Highbury, at your premises anywhere in the UK or Europe, or live online. Call us on 020 7407 8880 or use our team training enquiry form to get started.

What are your class sizes?

We keep classes small by design – a maximum of 8 delegates for in-person courses and 6 for online sessions. This means your trainer can give you genuine individual attention throughout the day.

Do I need any prior experience?

Prerequisites vary by course – each course page lists exactly what's required. Many courses are suitable for complete beginners; others require existing working knowledge. If you're unsure which course is right for your level, call us on 020 7407 8880 and we'll help you choose.

Attending Online

How are online courses delivered?

All online courses are delivered live via Zoom with the same trainer and the same content as our in-person sessions – you're not getting a lesser experience by attending online. You'll need a stable internet connection, a computer with the relevant software installed, and a working microphone.

Are online sessions recorded?

No – our online sessions are live only and are not recorded. This keeps sessions focused and interactive, and protects the privacy of all delegates.

What's the class size for online courses?

Online classes are capped at 6 delegates, so you'll get plenty of direct time with your trainer throughout the session.

What do I need to prepare for an online course?

You'll need the relevant software installed on your computer before the session starts. Full joining instructions – including the Zoom link and software requirements – are sent to you ahead of the course date. If you have any questions beforehand, just get in touch.

Are online courses suitable for beginners?

Yes – online delivery works just as well for beginners as in-person. Your trainer will walk you through everything step by step, and the small class size means you can ask questions at any point. Prerequisites are the same for online and in-person versions of the same course.

The Courses

How long are your courses?

We offer half-day, one-day, and two-day courses depending on the subject. We also have one three-day course: Video Production and Editing. Duration is shown clearly on each course page. Full-day, two-day, and three-day courses run 10am to 4.30pm.

Are courses practical or lecture-based?

All our courses are hands-on throughout. Rather than sitting through presentations, you'll be working directly in the software from early in the day – editing real footage in Premiere Pro, building layouts in InDesign, writing queries in Excel, or prompting in ChatGPT, depending on your course. Every session is built around doing, not just watching.

Can I request a private course?

Yes – if you'd like a course run exclusively for you or a small group, we can arrange a private session. Content can be tailored to your specific goals and schedule. Contact us on 020 7407 8880 to discuss your requirements.

Do you run courses at weekends or evenings?

Our courses run on weekdays only. If you need training outside standard hours, team training can sometimes be arranged to suit your schedule – contact us to discuss.

Full outlines are on every course page at mediatraining.ltd.uk. If you'd like to talk through the content before booking, call us on 020 7407 8880.

How do I choose the right course level?

Each course page lists the level – Introductory, Intermediate, or Advanced – along with any prerequisites. If you're unsure whether a course is the right fit for your current skills, call us on 020 7407 8880 and we'll point you in the right direction.

Your Trainer

Who will be training me?

All our trainers are freelance industry practitioners – they work professionally with the software they teach alongside their training work at Media Training. They're hand-picked for both their technical expertise and their ability to teach clearly and engagingly.

Are your Adobe trainers certified?

Yes – our Adobe trainers are Adobe Certified Experts who use Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, and other Adobe applications in their own professional work. You're learning from people who use these tools every day, not just in the classroom.

Team Training

How does team training work?

Private team training is reserved exclusively for your organisation, allowing your colleagues to learn together in a focused, supportive setting. Sessions follow our established course content as standard, with the option to tailor the training to your organisation's specific goals, workflows or materials for a small additional fee.

Training can be delivered at our London training centre in Highbury, at your premises anywhere in the UK or Europe, or live online.

Who books team training?

Team training is typically booked by marketing, communications, and creative teams. We work with a broad range of organisations, from large broadcasters and publishers to smaller agencies and in-house teams.

How do I get a quote?

The cost of private team training depends on factors such as the number of delegates, course duration, delivery format and whether you require tailored content. Use our team training enquiry form to tell us about your requirements, and we'll come back to you with a quote based on the best setup for your team.

Is there a minimum group size for team training?

There's no strict minimum – get in touch and we'll work out what's feasible for your group size and requirements.

How far in advance should I book team training?

We'd recommend getting in touch as early as possible, especially if you have a specific date or venue in mind. That said, we're used to working to tight timelines – call us on 020 7407 8880 and we'll let you know what's available.

What do we need to provide if training is at our office?

You'll need to provide a computer for each delegate with the relevant software installed, a computer for the trainer, and a projector or large screen for sharing the trainer's display. We don't supply hardware, software, or lunch at client sites. Call us on 020 7407 8880 and we'll go through exactly what's needed for your session.
